  1. The debate will be held in three languages viz. English, Urdu and Hindi. 
  2. Each participating University is entitled to send a maximum of three teams of two speakers, one team in each language. The organizers reserve the right to invite individual colleges / institutes, who shall be deemed as separate institutions for award of prizes. 
  3. Each of the teams shall have one speaker speaking for the motion and the other speaking against the motion. 
  4. Three prizes will be awarded for each language separately, along with the prize for a best speaker in each language. 
  5. Awards will be in the form of cash. Trophies will be conferred to the winning teams. 
  6. Team prizes shall be awarded on the basis of joint performance of both the speakers of the participating team. 
  7. The team of Aligarh Muslim University shall compete for the team as well as the best speaker prize. 
  8. There will be a Sir Syed Memorial Running Trophy, which shall be awarded on the cumulative performance of all the institutions in all the three categories. 
  9. All the participants shall be awarded the certificate of participation. 
  10. Each participant shall be given 4+1 mins. to speak and 1 mins. for interjection. 
  11. Verdict of the judges will be final. No protest or objection with regarding the decision or the procedure shall be entertained. 
  12. Participants must be bonafide students of the participating institution, enrolled for the undergraduate or postgraduate courses of study. Research scholars are not eligible for participation. 
  13. Admission to the debate will be subject to the presentation of a letter of the credentials from the Head of the institution/ Cultural Coordinator/ Dean Students’ Welfare, certifying the bonafide status of the participants. 
  14. Speaking order of the participating teams shall be decided on the basis of draw of lots. 
  15. The host university will arrange for the boarding and lodging of the guest teams free of charge from the evening of 1st March, 2015 to the morning of 4th March, 2015. 
  16. To and fro traveling expenses will be borne by the participating institution. 
  17. Female participants may be accompanied by a Teacher- in- charge. The in- charge will be the guest of the University and will be accorded the usual hospitalities. 
  18. Competitors with written debates will not be eligible for prizes. However, a slip of paper bearing the points only will be permitted. 
  19.  Entries for the debate may be sent as soon as possible and the latest by 25th February, 2015. They should be sent to:-
